Parking sensor volume

2014 FL2 Metropolis. I have turned down the volume to minimum in Set Up, but it is still deafening. Using the Audio volume I can further decrease it, but it returns to Loud when switching gears. Anyone know how to set the default lower then the minimum in set - up? It's more of a hindrance than a help.

Newbie, say hello?
Just turn it down using volume control when you park; it’s a pain but not sure it can be permanently lowered, would seem to defeat the object of it being an audible warning otherwise

Thanks. Pretty much what I do now. The racket each time you switch gears makes it difficult to concentrate, and having to stop and fiddle with the volume knob is a pain. Funnily enough, all the postings on this subject are because the volume is too LOW!!

Apart from the volume control, I have facility on mine to switch the sensor off - one of the buttons on the dash - however that has to be done every time, not sure it can be deactivated completely short of removing a fuse?

Indeed, I think you're right. Thanks.

Which button turns it off?

I half think the on/off button,(on the centre console) is only fitted to cars equipped with front parking sensors. It doesn’t on/off the rear sensors on my car, only the front.

The location of the button to silence the sensors would seem to vary - this is where it’s located in my 2008 XS. It switches off both front and rear.

Mine, on a 2014 car, is about where ReggiePerrin's is but a smaller button I think - I must have an extra button for something in that row - will have a look later. Also fairly sure my switch disables all the sensors - front and rear

Edit - I think my extra button is the stop/start one Thumbs Up 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 Manual Dynamic
