Finally got my LR2

Picked up the LR2 last night and am very pleased with the ride. Truck came from the factory with 2 quarts of oil missing though. Confused

HI there,

Really been enjoying the car for this past weekend.

As far as the oil goes that's a funny one. I wanted to buy a Toyota FJ and I have a good friend of mine who sells for Land Rover who was telling me how much better a truck the LR2 is and so forth. But what happens when you sell a friend a car.........stuff goes wrong! Not only did the car came from the factory with 2 litres missing but the car delivery guy broke one of my keys tring to open the truck up! Oh well S*#@! happens.

Truck....car doesn't matter. I will say an LR2 would not be considered a big truck over here that's for sure!

Crashed the LR2 last night

In case anyone was wondering about the safety of these vehicles I can attest that these are SOLID vehicles.

Last night I was on the highway when a large (60') transport truck and a 4 door Honda Civic tried to merge into each others lanes and the truck clipped the rear end of the Civic. The truck spun the Civic around and started to plow it down the highway when the Civic broke free and spun right into me. I barely felt the collission but once the Civic hit me it bounced right off me and flipped over twice and landed on it's roof. The driver of that car was taken away by ambulance but is in OK condition. I am fine and really didn't feel the hit much at all. I will say the passenger side of the truck is completely smashed and I even have 3/4" deep gashes in the rims.

Drive safe everyone but also be comfortable knowing this is a very safe vehicle.

Jim

Rolling with laughter so I know how Censored off you feel, even though my damage was nothing compared to yours fella, its still gutting. You realise you are probably one of the first private cars to need major repairs???

SURELY WE SHOULD GIVE YOU AN AWARD FOR THIS???

Hey Jmxxaff,
Glad your fine and in good spirits, i think you would agree with our local saying about car crashes "If its only the metal, your thankfully Blessed" .
I guess having a Volvo body design in the LR2 pays off in safty .
I wondered about something though, did the side Air Bags or any other SRS sytem respond to the crash?

Why don't we suggest starting a thread "LR2 First Crashes" , safty features responses could be reported , and who knows Jmxxaff ,maybe your the first person even Outside of canada to crash Wink .

Thanks

Valin

Hi there,

No airbags deployed at all and as I've said earlier I barely felt the Cicic impact even though she flipped over. I'll have some pics up this weekend.
