2009 SE with individual front armrests

Hi all

I’ve got replacement covers for the two armrests but am struggling to remove the armrests from the seats.

There is a cover which slides off the pivot point and a Torx 27 screw which I’ve removed but the armrest is very reluctant to come off the same way they do in say a disco 3/4.

Any suggestions? If the armrests had been covered in leather rather than vinyl I wouldn’t be having this problem…

I gave up on the armrests for the moment and replaced the air intake pipe with a flexible pipe that has ‘memory’ and holds its shape. It has the advantage that it’s slightly larger diameter (76mm dia) that the original although the air flow meter is restrictive (70mm dia).
I’m expecting at least another 10kW😁
The first interation replicated the original pipe.

I then figured I could make the pipe run more direct and still clear the bonnet.

Worst case I can form the pipe to the original’s shape, take it off and have a pipe made to suit. Then use silicone hoses to connect it up and some brackets to mount it to the engine…

Ive already fitted an oil catch can.

There is a fair stretch of plumbing from the quarter panel intake to the bottom of the air filter box. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Yeah, it’s unlikely to make much difference - I’m pretty sure the later car intake pipe doesn’t have the ‘panpipes’. I’m pleased to have ditched the spring clips holding the hose in place, as they were a pain to remove. Particularly if stuck by the side of the road.

You're right. My 2013 SD4 does not have the panpipes. Anyone know what purpose they serve?
