I only got 1 disk with my car, should I have 3? It did work to the Alps but couldn't select destinations in e.g. Switzerland other than by scrolling the map to the approximate location. Freelander 2 TD4 HSE auto Tonga Green/Alpaca

due to the type of encryption the data on the satnav disc's has not been cracked to enable to do this

I know one website said it was possible on a BMW disc but they have different encryption

I am the same, i have my roadpilot in my window Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

It's not the encryption, but rather the encoding - how the data is stored on the disc, rather than any protection.

The LR sat nav uses the KIWI format for maps and POIs, which is supposedly an "open" format, but it is very complicated.

The BMW sat nav uses an XML format for the POIs, allowing custom ones to be added very rapidly.

I suppose maybe a different brands Nav DVD might work if they use exactly the same system

possible crossover brands like jaguar/landrover etc

expensive mistake if it corupts the software though Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
