Handbrake switch renovation

Hi,

No real hit on the search function so new thread time!

Recently the small electric handbrake switch film has worked loose, it will only get worse and looks tatty, it seams to be an aluminium foil wrapped around the switch itself.

I’ve had a good look and for the life of me can’t find an easy way to get to the switch to remove it for a refurb! I’m normally pretty good at that!

Can anyone point me in the right direction for removing it, and the options for a refurb?

Many thanks. MY2014 HSE Santorini Black

I had this problem with my previous Freelander - it had actually cracked and was peeling off in quite a nasty way - it had a sharp edge right where you put your fingers to activate.
I bought a new centre console top complete - which I never got around to fitting. I believe you can remove the switch from the inside as it's screwed in place.
This is available for sale if of any interest - the one on my current car is like new.
