Update;
Having spent a fair amount of time considering changing the D3 for a Freelander 2, I went to my local, well respected & trusted Landie specialist yesterday. I’ve known them for ages. What they don’t know, Landie-wise, isn’t really worth knowing anyway.
I was taking my Defender for an MOT & casually mentioned the fact that I was perving a Freelander 2 rather than my D3. I was told, in no uncertain terms, that I was going down the wrong road.
So, looks like the D3 will be staying.

What exactly was their reasoning for this? It is a fact that the FL2 is leaps and bounds ahead of the D3 for reliability.

Then again I love the D4…almost like the D3……and after driving around in the DiL’s D5 for a few weeks actually felt it was a great car, but just didn’t have the 4X4 “image” the D series have. Regards

David

Lovely i6 has now gone, but not me......

Please let me know if anything in my post offends you, as I may wish to offend you again......

Thanks Lightwater, I will try that.
We had 3 XJ40's in the past and the wiring was all there to add stuff that the Sovereign had. Jaguar must have thought it cheaper to just throw all the same wiring into each one.
My son had a Disco 4 Commercial and put Landmark front seats in that the electrics just plugged straight in and also put RRS rear seat in that only needed two different bolt holes made. Was all simple

I would have thought if one is to upsize the 2016 onwards D4 is the way to go, they are in a lower emission VED group which isn't quite such a large increase over the FL2, problem is like post 2013 FL2 models are at a premium my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis
2012 HSE SD4 In Orkney Grey now gone, best car ever.
