Throttle problem

Hello to all, getting to know my FL2 after 16 years of Disco 1 and Disco 2.
2010 HSE auto.
Couple of times on startup there is no reaction from the throttle pedal for about 30 seconds. Just ticks over nicely.
Then drives normally after that.
Any ideas.
Enjoying the Freelander very much and I am quite sure I will be on again needing help.
Good to see the help on here. Very like the D2boys club.
Thank you in advance Jim A

If the battery light comes on as well it’s quite well known mine seemed to be low battery related.

Could also be the throttle body - a flap valve sits in the air inlet tract, it opens for the engine to run and closes to prevent run-on when you turn off. In time the internal plastic gears wear or the potentiometer tracks fail, either way the valve gets stuck in odd positions,.

Mine gave similar faults as yours for several months before it eventually failed.
But as mentioned before a battery that will start the car might not have enough in reserve to power all the systems, these take time to boot and connect making systems unavailable for several seconds. Batteries over 5 years old are on borrowed time. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

Thanks for the suggestions.
Ref the battery, engine off 1241 engine running 14.17.
I know about keeping a good battery from experience on the D2 and our Mexican friends, the three amigos.
The “hesitation “ has only happened twice.
Car is booked into Taggarts landrover as part of the LandRover offer of a full check over plus an oil and filter change all for £149 inc vat.
No doubt I will gat a long list from Taggarts telling me I need all sorts done.
Thanks again Jim A
