External Temp Reading

On start up the external temperature reading can be anything from -6 c to - 7 c & stays there on the display with a pic of a snowflake - Dosent happen all the time - Any thoughts

The temp sensor is in the wing mirror if that helps.

Maybe it’s the sensor that’s gone? Do all door mirrors have a temperature sensor? I still need to replace mine so wonder if this needs to be specified?

I think that the external temp sensor is in the drivers mirror --- correction Left Hand Mirror ---

Just checked workshop manual

Ambient temperature sensor - LH Door mirror

The LH door mirror incorporates an ambient air temperature sensor that is hardwired to the ECM. The ECM is connected to
the CJB and other control modules via the high speed CAN bus. The sensor provides information to the ECM that is then
transmitted on the medium speed CAN bus for use by other control modules. On vehicles installed with a high-line
instrument cluster, the CJB transmits the temperature signal to the instrument cluster that provides a display of the
ambient temperature to the driver.

That’s very helpful, chaps, as I don’t need to be trying to find the impossible, i.e. a driver's door mirror with a temperature sensor!
