Bluetooth suddenly failing to connect automatically

Yesterday my phone didn’t automatically connect via Bluetooth. The display said no phones connected and I had to go through the whole procedure of making the phone discoverable and re-pairing it using the four digit code on the display. Same thing with my wife's phone and this morning, a repeat performance.

Does this suggest that the Bluetooth module needs replacing?
