Satnav screen alternate use's?

Hi,
Is it possible to use the screen on the sat nav as monitor for, say, a DVD player or games console??
(for the the passenger of course)

i believe it has AV inputs on the rear, but i don't think these have been found to be able to be activated for a monitor/rear view camera etc

Though, If you have a 3rd party rear seat DVD, I have heard there are modules available


On a legal aspect, if a driver can see a monitor play movies etc, I believe it would be illegal whilst the car is in motion Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

My mate has a TV in the front dash of his bmw, It can only be used when parked & shows sat-nav and stereo controls only when he's driving-but you can get them unlocked with a software update-(which is as nick said "illegal")

I think most of the time you just need to disconnect the handbrake cable from the unit. If it doesn't sence that the handbrake is off it'll always thinks you're not moving.

now.. can anyone point me in the direction of removing the center console /dash so I can get to the screen.

I was aware of this, but would be interested about the following - my iPhone, which is in a holder,

when you select to play Music (on Shuffle), any music videos play back on the screen. So, technically, I would be breaking the law as the moving picture would be in the corner of my eye?
