TD4 engine mounts, same as 3.2?

I have the much discussed 1800 to 2000 rpm vibrations, they seem to be most prominent in the upper gears and when cruising around 70 up an incline on the motorway.. as it seems rpm related and not road speed dependent I’m leaning toward checking the engine mounts as a starting point. My question is, are the engine mounts the same setup as on the 3.2? these have been written about in other threads but I haven’t found any info on the td4 mounts.

Anyone else tackled/checked these? Had any luck on getting the vibrations under control by replacing them?

Cheers

Hi Lowbrow,
totally different engines mate,
there are plenty of engine mounts out there for the td4
you could try the sponsors or even ebay
plus there are a number of threads on here that may be of use.
if you go ahead and change them, then please let us know if they do make any difference.

Hmm.. so I popped the bonnet earlier and had a look with the engine idling, there’s no excessive movement. The torque mount seems pretty solid and the RH engine mount doesn’t seem to be sagging at all so I don’t recon the engine mounts are what’s causing the vibration issue, when it happened on my Audi the mounts it was quite apparent as they were visibly collapsed and ‘bleeding’ a red goo.

I’m leaning more toward it being a misfire, though I’m not sure how I’d check that.

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Rimini Red

Mine has a slight roughness around 2000 RPM, but I suspect mine is slightly down on compression on No3 cylinder, as I had to repair the damaged head, as a good replacement wasn't available at the time. It'll be interesting to see how mine runs, once I fit the low mileage replacement. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.
