2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Zermatt Silver

I use the Milenco mirrors, the Grand Aero also. I put a slight bend in the arm about a year ago and they have been OK since.
I think a rubber stap is needed round the back of the car mirror just incase. Saying that, I think if you were to knock the Milenco towing mirror against something at very low speed (say a hedge) it would knock the car mirror off the car, if it did have this strap on.

2009 Freelander 2 TD4 HST Auto Stornoway Grey

Hi - read with interest the recommendations regarding towing mirrors. I am having some trouble trying to understand the rules that govern the fitting of mirrors. I tried the mirrors that I first used on my previous FL1's and yes whilst they obviously stick out further on either side of the vehicle, I don't feel that they offer me any real benefit to rearward/side vision over the standard fit mirrors already on the FL2. I tow a 2berth caravan with a width of 2.23metres (7feet 4inches).
All the info I have read states that you must have adequate vision down either side of the caravan - which is something I feel I have got just using the standard mirrors. I would welcome comments from fellow caravanners re their experience/observation of rearward/side vision in the FL2.

Thanks - enjoying ownership of my HST and also reading all the comments and experiences you guys out there are having.

i find my FL2 mirrors don't see far enough back down the road with my caravan on the back, but they are ok for things alongside the 'van Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I can see the front corner of my van from the standard mirrors but you need to see down the full length of the van. The best test is have your outfit in a straight line and stand at the rear corner of your van, if you cannot see your mirrors from there they are not suitable. I find the freelander 2 mirrors fine for seeing where the wheeel of your van is on a corner and for seeing what is coming up in the next lane but that's all. I have Grand Aeros attached and I can then see along the full length of both sides. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Tip ---- When you see a line of cars stuck behind you in your mirrors, pull over and let them get on with their journeys

Problem is CG if you are stuck behind a caravan it is because they don't have a freelander 2 so posting it on here won't do any good. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

all this anti caravan st is becoming boring

I now vow to hold as many black FL2 up as possible, if your not a chicken farmer i apologise Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
