Memory Seats not functioning

Hi everyone, I have a 2012 HSE with electric memory seats. When I try to save the seat position, I press the Memory button and then press a number. As soon as I press the number, the seat moves into a pre saved position. Has anyone had this issue and if so did you manage to resolve it? Or is this a failure of the memory function and is this an easy repair? Any responses would be appreciated. Thanks Craig

Have you set them by the manual ? It’s been a while since I adjusted mine but I remember something about keeping a button pressed for a few seconds.

Hi, yes I tried to set them exactly as manual describes, but as I say as soon as I press the number button to save the position the seat moves. It’s as if the Memory button isn’t working.

When you press the number button, aren't you supposed to hold it for a few seconds, then you get an acknowledgement

Hi all, thanks for trying to help.

Ok, as per Andy’s guide,

I arrange seat into the relevant position.
I press Memory button.
I then press a number and hold the number button in. As soon as I press the number button the seat starts to move.

Could the memory function be broken - any suggestions on how to fix?

Thanks Craig

Strange one this is Neutral Long shot but I would try the old hard reset thing and try the procedure again when the battery is reconnected.

Sounds like the contacts on the mem button need cleaning or the mem button is fubar. Is the mem button getting power?

Has this problem with the seats been fixed? I have the same issue and symptoms as the OP.

Do you get the same outcome on all MEM settings? I see that the manual refers to the time allowed is set by doors open/closed?

When I did mine :-
1) Door open as hand did not fit !
2} ignition on
3} Press and hold MEM button
4} Press and hold numbered button until dash chimes
5} Should be all set Every time I learn something new, something old gets pushed out of my brain?
