Engine will not start at -1C

This winter my FL2 is behaving weirdly...
At -1C it won't start the engine. All light turn off normally and it begins to turn, but stops in several seconds. This is 10-20+ times.
Once +1C, the engine starts normally...
It is a new battery.
I have Shell Vpower Diesel + Liquimoly Diesel Fliess Kit K
I added yesterday Bardahl Water Remover (full tank)...

Same problem this morning (-8C)

Previous winter i had no problem starting at -10 C...

Anyone have an idea what it might be causing this?

if it only cranks and does not start, you should have your glow plugs checked, could be they are gone and need replaced.

If they are gone.... that should be a problem at +1C, too, shouldn't it?

It is possible the Diesel PTC heater 100A fuse is burnt , though there is no indication on the board....

I have a sort of similar issue, with poor/non start on colder days, but I get a P0380 error which is malfunction glow plugs circuit A. In November the car was checked by the mechanic who replaced the glowplugs last time and he confirmed them being all up and running, including the relay; however he could not explain nor eliminate the error.
As cold came by, I started to use the cold start trick, however I never see the "crank will commence after glow period" message, as I used to in other winters, so my guess there is an issue with the glow plug system.
Car starts sometimes even at -2, but only if before were positive temps, while on mornings after -5 or less, at -2 would rather not start.
did you try the cold start trick?

What is the "cold start trick"?

When cold i normally push the start button without the break, so it only starts the heating of the fuses.
I do that several times (2-3) before press the break and star the engine.
I worked OK last winter....but not now...

that is the cold start procedure, so my guess would be if you do this, might be your glow plugs are not actually working entirely ok.
in my case I see the glow plug light in board only for two seconds, then it switches off.

it's the same with my glow light (2-3 seconds and turns off)
I thought this is normal for heating the injectors....

glow plugs are heating the air, so the diesel combustion takes place.
have you checked them anyway?

I had the same problem with my first FL2 a couple of years ago when trying to start at below zero, it turned out that all four glow plugs were faulty.
The indicator on the dash still showed as normal because the demand signal was there and driving the relay, but the plugs themselves were all open circuit.

As well as glow plugs and battery, I have had success with new starter motor and also new earth lead. The AA man started my Freelander at -5c with no glow plugs by just using a big battery - took about 30s of cranking and when it finally went lots of black soot.

That's the weird part... It will not start at -1C , but it starts at +1C...
I believe there is not a great temperature difference in the pistons, so it can not start in 2C difference in outside temperature....
It might be all electronics issue..
The reading on the computer stated a "break in A circuit glow plugs" (quoting by memory)...

Yes, probably you got the P0380 as I stated before (I have it too).
So basically the glow plugs are not working correctly.
Did you fix it?
When I had the car checked, the guy told me that all the plugs were tested and they are ok, also the relay. Still, on the diagnosis I get this error and my guess is the glow plugs are NOT working correctly (so I need to change the mechanic).

There is no error on the dashboard.
On the diagnostics there is an error stating open circuit A.
How could that be... at - 1C with glow plugs on will no start, at +1C without glow plugs on will start normally.
This is a stupid electronic limitation
Will check it at Bosch original station...
