camshaft sensor and reluctor ring

Hi all, when we purchased our Freelander2 the previous owner told us that he had had the cam belt replaced but we have no paperwork to prove it,so, I thought it might be as well to replace the belt and water pump, the auxillary belt is worn and i would have thought that if the cam belt had been replaced it would have been a good idea to replace the aux belt at the same time, which made me a bit suspicious if the cambelt had really been done.
When we have it done I want to replace the camshaft sensor and reluctor ring any reccomendations on the make of sensor and does know where I can obtain the reluctor ring from as I can't seem to find one anywhere.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers
Moe

Are you doing it yourself. If so you need the kits for both auxillary and timing belt with water pump.

No, having it done by an indie and he has been servicing my cars for years, I have already purchased the Gates kit and some other parts that he is going to fit.

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Rimini Red

The cam position sensor can be done at any time. It's a simple thing to replace. However the reluctor is part of the cam pulley, so isn't replaceable.
Unless you're talking about the crank reluctor ring, which needs the timing belt to be removed to fit it, so it's best done while the belt is being changed, depending on type, it might need the crank pulley be changed too. The crank position sensor can be done anytime, taking just a couple of minutes to do. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.

Hi Nodge, the reason I was asking about the reluctor ring is as I am having the cambelt rplaced and also the aux bletI thought it would be a good idea to replace the reluctor ring and the sensors at the same time as I have nothing to say when this was done last.
