The DAB function is provided by a separate receiver module, housed behind the left side boot trim panel, it's connected to the head unit via the MOSTbus optical system, the antenna is built into the left rear window and connected to the DAB module via a little amplifier module in the headlining above the window.
So long as you have the head unit with the "FM / Digital" button, the parts can be retrofitted, however, you'll need to get the car configuration file (CCF) edited to tell it the parts have been added before it will work.

Thanx Clive. I take it that's a no then without loads of hassle? I've already got a dab accessory but it's not very good I only listen to planet Rock, but it tends to be very patchy. Especially in built up areas. Nowt worse that going off half way through a Pink Floyd track only to come back on when it's finished. Thanx for the info. Ridge.

It's not necessarily loads of hassle, I added DAB to mine about a year ago, it's just a matter of getting the bits together, once that's done it doesn't take too much to fit them, having a Nanocom of my own to enable me to edit the CCF helps though.

To be honest though, I'm still not convinced that DAB coverage is really good enough for in-car use yet. The sound quality is obviously far superior to the normal FM reception plus of course there is a far greater range of stations available, It's just the weak signal spots where it drops out entirely that spoil it, there are plenty of signal dead spots close to where I live Rolling Eyes

mobile DAB is not worth it, as transmissions are mainly available in city and large towns, not on motorways and link roads.
stick to FM.

Planet Rock is not available on FM only Dab in sunny Stoke. So I'll have to stick with what I've got....Maybe when I change my motor it will come with DAB. Thanx.
