Looking to buy Freelander 2 Auto ...... HSE

I’ve a budget of £3.5 - 4K

Anybody selling one or point me the right direction?

Not put off by distance, happy to travel for a good vehicle. No stranger to traveling from one end of the country to another

Automatics especially HSE models in short supply up here in Scotland so appreciate I’ll be traveling south of the border to get one.

Not familiar with the i6 fuel consumption.... is it that bad ?

OK then, it’s actually not too bad.......pottering around down here on fairly open roads we get on average 25mpg, on a long run to Norfolk just motorway at 70mph spot on it’ll return a very reasonable 30mpg........get into a bit of cut and thrust and it’ll plummet to 15mpg or worse, but TBH it’s not that sort of car, it’s very, very quiet and smooth so it tends to be driven nice and comfortably.

Got a new set of Michelin’s as well  Regards

Currently driving a Shogun 3.5 GDI SWB (petrol - v6 Auto) so no stranger to those sorts of figures

Looking to change to Freelander 2 partially for better MPG the wife would also like a little more comfort hence HSE

But never say never, send us details once you decide to sell

Hope you managed to fix your head gasket issues......

Thankfully it was not the head gasket just overheated sitting ticking over for over an hour on the drive (baby sitting distracted me ) ...I suspect it was the fan module failed to kick in, as it’s been fine every time I be run it on the drive since, it’s SORN at the moment but if your really interested I was going to get my local LR specialist to give it the once over before selling anyway. Regards

why only look for a HSE

I would decide what spec I wanted (leather, centre arm rest, F&R pdc's or what ever you want) then look at all spec levels and see what had been added as an option, you may get what you want on another spec level car and it opens up your number of cars available to look at.

Just a thought  .
my first ever FL2 and I did keep it longer than most other cars!
But its now gone way up Norf

Good point. Many XS have been spec'd up with some good kit.  2007 TD4 XS The work horse that earns its up keep
2013 SD4 HSE The posh one for towing the caravan
1973 Triumph Stag I bought in 2009 and restored.

When picking out the HSE spec as my Freelander of choice I did indeed have a list of what I would like in a vehicle. When compared to the range......closest contender HSE

Rather have an original factory specked vehicle as apposed to one that has been adapted/added to over time

That said as with a petrol model never say never....... it seems good reasonably priced HSE Autos are in short supply

The one thing a HSE will have that very few others will have (if any) is the dual sunroof. Makes the interior lovely and bright inside!

An Se model would get my vote , it has most of the Hse bits but without the price premium .
