who knows of a decent place to get a Gen4 haldex pump and service kit from that isn't stealer prices my pumps been playing up for a year now and I have to get it sorted  2009 FL2 S now gone

Bought haldex oil and filter from them before - good prices on those i recall.

cheers guys will see how I get on I am planning on doing the pump over the Christmas break had the oil and filters done last year but the pump is sticking and I am getting fed up of tapping it and forcing it to go by putting 12 volts to it directly  2009 FL2 S now gone

P38 v8 auto no problems,great howle from exhausts when giving it welly
Td5 auto head gasket,no5 pot not uncommon but good car.
1st Tdv6s manual epb problem fixed under warranty(stealer said"never heard of this before,i suggested he looked at d3 forum.

Are you sure your haldex pump is not working? It may be that the screen filter on it is clogged. Recently changed my oil and filter which showed the pump screen to be about 50% blocked. My wife has a VW Tiguan 4motion and its 4 wheel drive system stopped working effectively making it a 2motion! I suspected pump had failed but removed it to find guaze filter screen totally covered in mucky sludge. Checked the pump, just 2 wires on the terminals to a 12v battery which proved it was still working. Cleaned it up, replaced the oil and hey presto full 4motion restored, a cheap DIY fix. I didn't have a main haldex filter to replacement it at the time. I've now bought one and new litre of oil to change again, sitting on a shelf in the garage waiting. Just not looking forward to crawling under the car in current weather.

Update
I changed the haldex oil and filter in wife's Tiguan a few weeks ago. OMG what a headache, original filter of 119000 miles was stubbornly stuck fast and took serious effort to remove, breaking up as it did. The new one wasn't much better, extremely tight putting back in. Hellish job under the car then my fluid pump broke and took a bit of creative bodging to get something to fill the haldex again. All in all the Freelanders haldex removal and filter change was actually easier. Not a job I'd look forward to doing again, I'd say the car will leave us with the same oil and filter in it in a few years time 🤪 Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

sorry to hijack this one ; but how difficult is it to service the haldex ; going to change the engine/oil filter over the xmas break ; if not to difficult i will do the haldex

There are plenty of threads covering this very topic on here. If you just search 'haldex service'. Bit of a pain because there is no drain plug and on later models the pump can't be removed without taking the propshaft off and removing the large drive flange it bolts to. Its not really difficult just a bit of a faff. The position of the filter is awkward to get at without removing the complete haldex. If you are competent at servicing a car go for it but if you are a total novice I'd recommend this is best left to a trusted garage. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

finally got round to doing this on Monday taking the haldex off and cleaning /replacing pump and filter was a breeze compared to taking off the Propshaft rubber coupling uj joint thing off. wrestled with that for 2 hours 1 taking it off another hour putting it back on , but did it and only had the car raised on a breeze block under each wheel as my ramps showed some flex in them but all sorted now  2009 FL2 S now gone

cheers for that tip nodge68 I did use new prop bolts and locktited the haldex coupling nut + torqued 2009 FL2 S now gone

Bit dodgy using breeze blocks isn't it? I understand they can suddenly implode under the load.

yes breeze blocks can give but so could my ramps I was going to use when the car was reversed up them you could push the car side to side very easily, the breeze blocks I used were the solid concrete ones not the aerated ones  2009 FL2 S now gone

I use wooden blocks, which are secure, slip proof and crush proof too.  2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.

Excellent stuff. I used new bolts this time too, although next time I'll be using thread lock, as I know the bolts haven't been over-torqued.
