Alpine Stereo Help

I’ve got a 2009 XS. It has Alpine branded speaker grills, and an aftermarket stereo that was fitted before I bought it, and I’m not really sure what they did when they installed it.

There is some mystery wiring under the drivers seat, and the parking sensors and steering wheel controls don’t work. I’m not convinced the stereo sounds as good as it should, and that playing with the balance doesn’t seem to put sound where it should be.

I’d like to know my options for changing my stereo, maybe getting the buttons and sensors working, but before I do that I want to figure out what has been messed with. I’m actually tempted to reinstall a stock alpine system and add Bluetooth audio to that, or get a Apple CarPlay unit.

Where was the alpine amp originally installed, so I can see if it was bypassed?

I bought a steering wheel control patch lead, marked CTSLR006.2, which didn’t fit. What is the correct one?

Thanks!

EDIT: Info found, please ignore!
