Headlight bulb

Near side headlight bulb has gone on my 63 plate - easiest and quickest option for me at present is to pop into Halfords and have them replace it.
Can’t access the handbook at the moment so can someone let me know the OEM bulb number or if there’s a better alternative they’d likely have in stock
Only seems to be the one bulb as no dipped or full beam. Believe they’re halogen? Sticker nearby has HAL which if it’s relevant to the light would confirm by suspicions
Many thanks in advance

It will be an HB3 bulb. Search on here there is a mountain of information and they are notorious for blowing. There are better options out there including hid and led upgrades. Halfords are reportedly declining to fit these bulbs to Freelander 2s because of issues with them blowing. Easy to change with a 10mm spanner / socket. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

As Bob says it is a single HB3 bulb, there's a mechanical shutter to do high/dipped beam. It's very easy to change, remove 2x bolts from top of headlight then there is a little plastic rod with a handle behind the headlight which you pull upwards to release a latch on the underside of the headlight, the whole thing just pulls forward then and you can access the rubber cover over the rear of the bulb.

There's some youtube vids e.g. , that one is for the earlier headlamp model which aren't HB3 but you get it out the same way.

Halfords reluctant to fit high intensity hb3's to freelanders but I did get them to replace with GE BULBS which I believe are factory fitted. Accordingly suffer the output of a toy torch so will be "upgrading" to hid as per Bobupandown experience. MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.
