That does look like fun. Learned to drive in 2011.
Bought a Micra - great little car
"Upgraded" to Kia Sportage - hated it
Proper upgrade to FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - tailgate paint issues, fuel gauge rewire, transfer box failure at 36k miles, clutch at 60k
Reconditioned diff at 70k ish
Sold at 84k and now on a DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental

As far as I can tell it doesnt look like they bothered to let some air out of their tyres. Jules

Go the Freebe's, betting they have road tyres on so did really well,
Few people need to learn when not to use the brakes!
Makes me what to start again. Common sense isn't very common.

Yes, the Fl2s did very well on standard road tyres.
Not unexpectedly getting stuck on a few ramp overs but impressive nonetheless. Jules

There was (is?) a chap on here that was a frequent participant in muddy fun... Name escapes me but iirc he added a home made snorkel and underbody protection especially to exploit the car’s off road abilities.

Here's another, the cars modified slightly but it's quit amazing what its capable of. I doubt many other cars in the same class, i.e Nissan, Honda etc etc could match it.

did you notice Warren was in front of him, should he get stuck.

I do like his tyres, with side wall grip. I bet they howl on tarmac.

Hm, it's been raining here this week. Might need to go find some clay.

The Freelanders looked very good, the only thing the 90 did better was suck it's driver into sticky situations.

Even in my other 4WDs I often decided I didn't actually need to drive to the final destination - a walk would get me there just as easily and less expensively. MY11 SD4 SE Auto

I would rather walk. Down under our issue is the very sticky mud & it can simply be a highway. It takes hours to get it off. If you don't remove it it sets like concrete.

This was west of White Cliffs NSW. Half an hour a corner & I had a spade & hose.

TBH, not all of the mud down under is like that. There's plenty of regular old mud-like mud too. MY11 SD4 SE Auto
