Or Qashqai!
Still at least they come up with name rather than a number.

The current stock of 15,000UK spec Mitsu vehicles will remain on sale and according to Mitsubishi Corporation will continue to receive full support in terms of service, repair, warranty, recalls, parts and accessories well into the future. (They are legally obliged to offer components for 10 years.) They have sold 50,000 Outlander PHEVs here and 10,000 of the new L200 in 2019 (on which the Shogun Sport is largely based) so this will provide lucrative business for years to come for parts and servicing. The Colt Car Company is their "independent" UK presence with a turnover of £500 million annually so that will continue to operate in some form - they are looking to take on additional brands to fill the gaps in dealer forecourts. The Colt Car Company's sole ultimate shareholder is however ................ yes, you guessed it ............ The Mitsubishi Corporation. My contract with them states 5 years warranty (62,500 miles) and 5 years servicing so I am content to take whatever long term risk remains.

If only.....

As to my parting thoughts on the Freely2 and the Land Rover brand, well, my ideal vehicle would have been a Freely2 with proper all wheel drive transmission with a low range box and raised ground clearance - made in Halewood of course. That would have been a far better vehicle for my type of use than any old style Defender and far better for me than the Slovakian imposter now hiding behind the Defender badge. No doubt I am just the wrong sort of customer for the brand nowadays.

Did you not think about an INEOS Grenadier then Tradewind?

My choice came down to Shogun Sport or Landcruiser. Toyota could not get me the Landcruiser I wanted until March and would have been well north of £40k. I liked the Grenadier concept but switched off due to it being a completely unproven vehicle to be built in France and well north of £50k pricing. I would have preferred the Slovakian vehicle at that price.
