Stiff gear selecting 08 fl 2

Big Cry Hi. Having issue's with my 08 freelander manual as it sometimes gets hard to push into gear. I find on nearly all journey's the gear change gets stiffer & won't accept the chosen gear. I have to move the gear stick in & out of other gear's then it'll hopefully go into the chosen gear. Also I can't get it into reverse sometimes. Had to stop using it for 5 or 6 month's then last week I had the local garage try sorting it but they think I need new gearbox but they changed the gearbox oil to see if that would solve the problem (it didn't). They did say the clutch was fine. Anyone got any ideas why it might be doing this? Thanks, Rob

You might speak with Austen at Bell Engineering for an expert opinion based on the symptoms you describe. He knows stuff about Freelander 2 manual gearboxes (and front/rear diffs & haldexes).

He is very highly regarded amongst members of this forum for the work he does with our 'sealed for life' transmission components.
