Wales 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Orkney Grey
Independent Land Rover garages near Swansea

Hi
Just joined the forum - I have bought a 2011 Freelander 2 and after just 5 days I have noticed an issue with the fuel gauge. As per other posts on this site looks like a cable/sender issue - switch ignition on fuel gauge shows a third full which seems wrong (just put in £40), after a couple of minutes it drops to zero and then rises back up to a third after a while.
Found the following useful links on this site:

Dealer where I bought the FR2 has agreed to fix at his local LR independent garage but he’s based in Brecon, I’m struggling to find a local garage (near Swansea) who will do the work. Does anyone have any recommendations on garages near Swansea please. Many Thanks!

I was not impressed, had a service there and they changed the fuel filter. Car drove like sh*t after that with no go when it got warmed up. Took it back and they were not interested. Took it to Autec in Swansea and they realised the filter was un-named (junk), changed it for a proper named one and the car drove like new. If I had transmission issues I would go to Bell Engineering, other than that everything can be fixed by a good garage, So I don't know what Swansea Vale 4x4 can improve on.

Thanks for the recommendations regarding Autec & Bell Engineering - I phoned a few places today but none seemed interested in investigating/fixing probable connection issue with fuel sender. I’ve decided to take it to the independent LR garage in Hay-on-wye (Ashbrook), arranged by the dealer under warranty - it’s a 3 hour round trip but they’ve fixed this issue before on FL2’s.
