Got the quote from Admiral off Compare the merekat.com then when they rang me to set up the policy they gave me further discount 'cos I'd not mentioned I had a missus??? then I told them about the kit and wheels-No extra cost 'cos they are original landrover and can be specified on a new car. |

I argued mith my insurance that it was original equipment and that it was part of the car when I bought it as supplied by LR. They argues that if the car is a write off then the accessories have to be bought on top of the cost of a basic car, thus the premium goes up. Fair point I spose but still arse. |

exactly £20+K car, plus £1-2K extras, means bigger premium, because i am sure you would want the replacement to have the extras on if the worst happened Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis |

All though I told them about the bits on my FL2, I'm not totally sure that they are covered anyway? They'll probably only give me market value for the car if I do need to claim-as they say the more you spend on extras don't necessarily mean the car will be worth much more second hand.

If they charge me extra for the 'extras' then they will have to cover the cost of those items, not just market value of the car. I suppose there's no argument should the worst happen. Phil |

Mods like alloy wheels etc. that incure an insurance loading will because they make the car more desirable to a thief-not cos they they are covered. |

Yes they carry a weighted risk factor but also they should be covered. My policy says something along the lines of "modifiactions and optional extras not disclosed will not be covered and may invalidate your policy". I'd fecking hope they were covered! 09MY FL2 Td4 XS, Style Pack, Privacy Glass, Martinique Blue.. oh so very blue.. |

When towing I have felt that the car feels more 'planted' with the 19's.
