Prices drop used cars

While driving to recycling centre, I noticed a freelander for sale at Volvo dealer, out of curiosity thought I take a look

Was surprised it was up for £8500 it was XS model 2013 but had just shy of 91k, is full leather standard in the Xs model or could it of been a extra. 1 owner

It was a manual and only a td not the preferred SD4 , had nice general cooper at3

I thought it was rather cheap for year as in Scotland you normally pay more

I’ve seen private adverts for more than this

high mileage ,should be a lot less, average mileage for reps might be 10000, but not the average driver.

Yeah it has about 20k miles over, they reckon average is 10k

It’s not a reps car it was a customers car they have traded it in for a new Volvo 4bx4I’m thinking may of towed as from Kelso, lots of horsey people Smile

Them new volvos are expensive

I thought it was gold , from a distance then closer look it appeared silver, I think it’s time I need by eyes tested

It was beige leather interior and carpets they where immaculate, the carpets too light for me seem to have a lot more extras that the normal Xs trim

My last car an MY10 XS was in 'Ipanema Sand'. A very pale gold... could that be the colour you was looking at?

Not my car - just an example of Ipanema Sand that is on a west midlands forecourt at £19,995

Average between 10 & 12, reps can be 2 to 3 times this easily, think it's a good price if service history is good.

Yep that’s the colour, mot history state it as gold,, must look different colour if sun shines on it.

History only 3 with Land Rover Till warranty expired then rest with just a local mot test centre,

Not much wrote in the book, the salesman said last service also had brake fluid, wow.

Had new brake discs and pads at 3 years old, is that now a bit early

first time seen that colour

United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Auto Firenze Red

Went on to, we buy anycar, just out of interest as I have 2013 xs auto with 68000 full history, £9500
On those figures it's depreciation works out at £2500 a year over the last 3 years which I didn't think was too shabby.
I'm expecting it to hold that price to the end of the year with a possible rise as winter nears.😊
I'd rather wear a mask for the rest of my life than sell for £9500.

United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Firenze Red

Apart from the squeak and leak (sunroof) our XS SD4 has got more bits and bobs than some HSE's have. I think 2013/2014 models have differing specs to such an extent that being the outgoing builds they were prob emptying the extras bins on the production lines to entice and help getting shot of them in the showroom. Some XS's I see advertised have been meanly treated from the extra's bins.

over 20 grand for a very old model.

I don't know about the UK, but a quick check on coches.net in Spain sees 2014 FL2s with 60,000 miles at around 15k euros BUT Disco 3 AND 4s (2010 2.7D S models) with about 80,000 miles are around 17-19,000 euros.

It's a testimony to the FL2 how desirable it is on the second hand market. An attractive soft roader that people obviously see as less pricey to maintain and get around in than a Discovery.
