SDD - Battery Support Unit

I always use a battery support unit when using SDD, and few times the question has come up about why they are needed and which one to use. So here are my thoughts on Battery Support Units;

https://bxproject.co.uk/blog/sdd-battery-support-unit/

I've used quite a few options over the years, but currently, my favourite option is the GYSFlash 100.12. I've not used this model myself yet, but it has plenty of power even for the most modern of cars. I've found them on offer right now at £630 delivered. More than the cost of an adapter, less than the cost of replacing an ECU.

That’s a kick in the nuts for people who spent 60 quid on a code reader.

I've just bought a Mongoose with two day delivery for £28, supplied in the UK. It's now sat next to me. £60 sounds expensive Very Happy

My views on the Mongoose are here;

I've bought one to tear apart and see if it's a horror show, or not. Need to build some adapters first though.
