Retro fit TOMTOM

Fed up cleaning out cubbyhole , and cleaning sucker marks on windscreen so decided to build in TOM TOM.
Took out cubby and stuck SATNAV in ( using 3M double sided tape) . Connected power to USB on IPod module . Done in 30mins. Can disconnect USB and connect to Macbook for updates. Might make some brackets if tape doesn't work .They use it for spoilers though.

which model TT is it?

Any problem with GPS signal?

You happy leaving it in the car with all the light fingers around or does it coe out easy?

its a start 60 , have to remove dash to get it out , just as factory fit behind dash .The 60 is basic , but dont need bluetooth as already in factory head unit. Its got 6 inch screen an nearly fills the entire hole. Only £130 halfords online

Tom Tom Start 60

Looks good, how do you turn it on or do you leave it switched on all the time. I have an XL fitted in cubby hole but have to switch on to use all the time.

turns on and off with ignition , can turn off permanently by disconnecting usb

put a bit of black tape over the tomtom name maybe? so a sneak thief will not realise its not a built in screen and try and rob it At work

Black sharpie marker does the trick rather neatly.
Unless your a farmer, then a bit of tape will do Rolling Eyes

As lettering is slightly raised , marker used ,black being the best colour as we all know!
