Australia 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Rimini Red
New Freelander Down Under

Took delivery of my new 2010 Freelander 2 SE yesterday that I picked up for (what I believe) was a bargain!

Bought it at auction for a little under $5k Australian with the description saying it was blowing black smoke and running like a dog. It had a great service history, new tyres and had recently had a small fortune spent replacing the turbo, diesel inlet manifold, hoses, Egr etc etc so I took a punt expecting it was just a split inlet hose. Turns out it was not split but blown off, missing its clamp and rubbing on the air con pulley.

Re-fitted the hose, got a new clamp, bobs your uncle, no more issues! Hose isn’t quite worn through but I will order a new one just in case. Battery needs replacing but aside from that very impressed, bit more refined than my Defender!

Just about to click 96k. Not changing it though. Worth little now (+10 yrs, Euro4 diesel). Late HSE Lux, Metro or maybe D4 only possible choices but annual mileage now only 5k so would be wasting my money in truth.
