missing out on what seemed like a bargain but dpf

While waiting in the queue at Tesco’s got chatting to a guy anyway telling him I was on look out for another car. Well he’s just sold his freelander 14 plate to we buy any car, he said as a private seller you always car is worth more as you factor in price that you paid yourselves, he said dealears where advertising for less than private buyers,

He had advertised i it on eBay but messed around so much

It went to we buy any car which are part of BCA. For a mere £7500 , he said they sneaky they give you a valuation to get you down there then try and tyre kick the car and offer much less than online quote however he walked away his quote on line was 7500 and at first tried to offer him 6500 as said while it had full service not full

I know the price of these have dropped but didn’t think that much I know. 4x4 normally command a higher resale here in Scotland

United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 SE Auto Santorini Black

Prices in summer months are, I think, lower than winter months, as people think they need a 4x4 in the winter.

Also, I suppose it depends on the mileage etc. I'm sure WBAC offered me not a huge amount off that for a 2011 FL2. Learned to drive in 2011.
Bought a Micra - great little car
"Upgraded" to Kia Sportage - hated it
Proper upgrade to FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - tailgate paint issues, fuel gauge rewire, transfer box failure at 36k miles, clutch at 60k
Reconditioned diff at 70k ish
Sold at 84k and now on a DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental

His was 80k miles on a 14 plate so about average, come a bad winter and they be in high demand

Bit like them carazy people buying them inflatable hot tubs for twice rrp😅 all about supply and demand

Saying that can imagine car prices dropping as with the doom and gloom of covid 19 not as many people will be a 2 or 3 car household god knows what the future holds

WBAC valued my '02 Td5 110 DCPU with 70k miles at £50... needless to say it got sold privately for a lot more than that!
