Whooshing sound

Hi , I have a freelander2 xs 2011, 97000 miles.
I've noticed a whooshing sound when accelerating in lower gears, and also a slight Judder occasionally in lower gears.
Had the turbo pipes looked at, no obvious holes only a slight oil leak on one.
Any ideas please.
Thank you .

Welcome! The most common cause of your symptoms is a split turbo hose. It`s normally the short hose low down on the front of the engine and its not easy to see properly! Lots of threads on the same subject. search for (Help- Something went kaput on way home- Turbo related)as that is the most recent one! Good luck! Thumbs Up

Thank you, much appreciated. Would you know if driving it will make things worse until I can get it fixed.?
Cheers.

As the engine is not getting the air that it needs it will be down on power and it can/will get smokey, and can build up soot in the system if not fixed soon. MY13 HSE Lux Santorini Black

Those holes can be pretty tiny, hard to see until you take them both off. . A square of coke bottle plastic and superglue was enough of a fix till new pipes arrived for me

If it is in the inlet side of turbo just buy a smoke can for leak defecting, squirt it into the inlet at the filter and see where it comes out, these turbo leaks are a pain to find but normally go at the elbow low down and difficult to get at. Get an indie as dealers will want to change the whole pipe but a rally silicon elbow or pipe section to cover the split is about £40 plus fitting, mine cost €100 in Cyprus 40 for the elbow and €60 labour about 1 1/2 hrs my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis
2012 HSE SD4 In Orkney Grey now gone, best car ever.

Thank you, I have now detected the hole in the front turbo hose, but now the DVP warning is displaying on dash!
How do I get this fixed ?
Any advise appreciated.

If you mean the restricted performance message is showing it is connected to the problem with the hose. If you get the hose replaced then the light should go out when the car next does its self checks. If its something else can you describe the light as I do not recognise DVP, did you mean DPF?
