On autotrader dealer prices seem to be cheaper than private sales, how can I determine a fair price for a well looked after vehicle.

Looking for a 2007-2009 no DPF, ideally we’ll looked after and not loads of miles

Just past experience don’t trust dealers

Been looking on off for a long time, got sick on what some people of fsh was, I think they must work for Disneyland

Just after a true honest fl2 that hasn’t been abused the thought of buying a lemon fills me with dread

I'd keep an eye out in the for sale section here , I think you'd get a better one tbh . Remember any 10 old + car will require money spending and a Fl2 more so .Is there any reason you want a pre dpf model ? I don't do a massive mileage in mine which has a dpf and i haven't had any bother at all , but then again the oil does get changed every 6 months (4.5k) . Don't be put off by a newer Fl2 with higher than average mileage , they will easily do it if maintained correctly.

The dpf frightens me been told by my old mechanics to avoid

I mainly just do short trips have been to to avoid all land rover apart from fl2

Went to see one other week had full mot how it passed god knows I don’t know much about cars but tyres bald light on dash I was pleasant and just left luckily didn’t travel too far to view

No issues with my dpf but I am doing 25 miles each way to work so its always up to temperature. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Ignore the 'old mechanics as the FL2 just got better and better.

Buy the youngest, best equipped FL2, with a good service history and some sort of warranty.

The Automatic SD4 is the best engine/transmission option, and the HSE Luxury or Metropolis is the best specification and includes most things you want. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 85k+ miles) (MY2015)
Metro in its 12th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History
(Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?)

Gadgets in car don’t bother me , don’t want side steps if they alter ground clearance, prefer leather as easier to keep clean and manual I think

Need it to handle ok in snow, warranty are they ever any good if buying from a independent garage normally have more clauses than anything

Get an i6, no dpf  Common sense isn't very common.

A petrol FL2 imagine few and far between, I think I’m ok with dpf until around 09 model at latest

Don’t be put off by DPF but I agree with you there is some for sale out there.

I know my driving doesn’t really allow for driving a dpf if bought one I would be paranoid thinking that I would have to take the car for a run, where I live it’s 3 miles of a bad single track road where you lucky to get to 10 mph then 5 minutes on public road and I’m at my destination, lucky if I was to get out of 3 rd gear,

So can’t imagine temperature would ever get to where it needed , also budget doesn’t allow for the newer models
