So the wheels arrived within 24 hours in perfect order, still in LR packaging.

Well-done CG. I have been thinking of buying some 18 inch HSE wheels myself. You got a good buy. Did you have to pay any extra on your insurance as the vehicle has now been modified? I hope not, as I got a speeding ticket last year and that put my insurance up. Yes I know CG, a caravanner with a speeding ticket. (That must be a First).

Do I fit the wheels now and sell the old ones with loads of tread or wait until they are down to the limit and then swap them ?

Keep them for off roading.

Might as well keep them as nobody will want to buy the old ones Seriously - why not put some decent winter tyres on the old wheels or alteratively some good off road rubber for fun days in the forest Stornoway Grey with Ebony Black Pleather, Clear Indicators, Body Side Mouldings etc. |

If it was for off-roading, I'd sell the olds and buy a set of 16's and still have some change, but in reality I'm too lazy to change the wheels round very often At work |

If your gonna swap, do it now. Since your paying for them anyway, you might as well enjoy them instead of the next owner.
