Thanks for being honest 👍 tastes are different. The drawer is just a costum size that fit between the left and right side do it has no place to slide. Only having 1mm on both side. The box can be slide out when needed because there are no screw or fixture to hold it. There is a loose piece of wood on the back that's on top of the box and under the metal hooks of the seats. So when drawers are open it can fall out of the trunk by the weight. To take it out I made a cart. Also the top part can slide out like a drawer.

Thanks for posting up the pics! I’ve been pondering various versions of a drawer system and/or a sliding tale gate table, so it is really good to see your set-up. I really like the cart system! Never seen anything like that before and it makes so much sense! 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

Thank you Worms! Really glad to hear that! If you need help or tips just send me a pm. I thought about how to do this for a long time . Togheter with a friend I made this. Works really great. Each drawer can take up to 60kg. The top drawer have 120kg sliders. But because they are side mounted flat they can take 60kg. I gonna at to more so it can be used as a small work bench to. I always have the toolbox in the car. Only if I need to load alot of stuff I think it out. The machines are secured very well if they smash a window they can't reach them. If they break open the trunk they still can't reach them because I have badge controlled locks, that can take alot of force. They could lift it out but need to be at least with 2 guys and I think with all the tools and materials it weighs up to 100-120kg. anyway I'm very happy with it and use it almost every day

Also for all the materials to make it, it was about 250-300euros. I asked alot of companies that make this kind of drawer systems and for 2 drawers the prices were between 800-1600euros

That all looks very heavy. Have you not secured anything to the floor, or do you strap everything down once your car is loaded?

If not, in a collision, surely you will be injured.

Or have I missed something?

No I don't secure it. Would it make alot of change? Never thought about it. But sideways it can't move because of the tight dimensions. And front to back also no room for sliding. so if I had a accident It would have need to break true the seats to hit me. I think it will be impossible to 'flip' out of the trunk. But I can be wrong that's how I see it.

From looking at your impressively well made boot contents, I am wondering if you could ditch your transverse piece of wood, and replace it with a metal bar connecting the 2 seat supporting loops, and being part of a 'Dog Cage' type of wire screen protecting you and your passengers from 'flying' objects.
