Advice needed on Audio upgrade...

Hi guys
I’ve got a 2010 fl2 se 2.2 auto and I’d like to upgrade my stereo system
I believe it’s got the basic system in there already as there is no phone or Bluetooth
I’d like a head unit in which it has Bluetooth and nav and also be able to retain parking sensors and the steering wheel controls and will also like to upgrade the speakers

When I get some more dollars I'm going for an Alpine ILX-702.

Carplay and Android Auto so you get nav that way. Audiopro harnesses hook up the wheel controls etc.

And same brand as original. There was a mob on ebay selling it as a kit including a fascia for the FL2. MY11 SD4 SE Auto

An SE should have the midline audio. Can you post a pic of the head unit? If not does it have a phone button on it?

Midline can be upgraded to Premium quite easily and there is a marked difference in sound

^^^^^^^

bear in mind that different markets globally had different specs, so an SE in UK (1 down from top spec) probably doesnt have the same spec as an SE in Australia.

The base system (unbranded) is relatively easy to upgrade and as said before there are harnesses out there to retain steering wheel controls and parking sensors if fitted compatible with aftermarket head units.

The midline (Alpine branded) is easier to upgrade to the highline and retain the sensors and controls when using LR head units but not so easy if your fitting an aftermarket head unit due the MOST set up.

Ok, as a comparison, I *believe* this is the midline system which is fibre based so is a pain to replace as you need about £250-300 worth of kits to keep steering wheel controls, parking sensors etc. Mine is on a 2011 GS
 Learned to drive in 2011.
Bought a Micra - great little car
"Upgraded" to Kia Sportage - hated it
Proper upgrade to FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - tailgate paint issues, fuel gauge rewire, transfer box failure at 36k miles, clutch at 60k
Reconditioned diff at 70k ish
Sold at 84k and now on a DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental

Hey Bennmk3
Did you ever get around to your audio upgrade?
Saved my dollars, got the Alpine ilx-702D head unit.
Got the aerpro 9290K to get the steering wheel controls and facia, etc.

Blood turned to water when I took out the current Alpine unit and looked again at videos of the installation process - and realised I have the MOST fibre optic system in there Oh Lord.

Aerpro do in fact do a harness that accommodates the MOST system for aftermarket head units - the CHLR10C.

Still trying to work out what goes between the Control Harness and the head unit.

The dollars required are adding up.

Argh. Such good fun.

I have an SD4 SE so I'm guessing your OEM unit is the same MOST fitout. MY11 SD4 SE Auto

Jeff, you're in for a world of cost now. You'll need kits to keep parking sensors working, the amp for the sub and a few other things. I gave up in the end. Learned to drive in 2011.

A world of cost - yep, sounds like a Land Rover.
My understanding is that the control harness incorporates the amp controls - that is what the fibre optic line does, is that right? Will consult as many schematics as I can. MY11 SD4 SE Auto
