Changing codes...

Whilst I shall still be maintaining day-to-day FL2 links in a work capacity, I'm changing my daily steed and angling towards an Alfa Brera 2.4 JTD SV Bow down (c.£16k). I love the FL2 but it's too slow and I don't like throwing it around in the corners too much Crying or Very sad

My decision may be made, but can anyone suggest some alternatives e.g. Alfa GT, SEAT Leon FR D, 330D BMW, Imp WRX (new shape), Honda S2K etc...?

Criteria:
Price limit £16k,
No more than 50k miles,
Vaguely practical, but size not an issue (fnarr, fnarr),
No dull stuff (Audis),
Nothing French !!!!!
No Boxsters (common - three friends of mine have them)

Previous motors: Alfa 156, Imp WRX (05 version) and Lotus Elise

I will however ignore any comments about:
a) Alfa's being unreliable. Yes they are, but so are washing machines, banks, refridgerators and Freelanders (on occasion)! Life moves on, get over it.
b) I know some of the Alfa dealers are crap, but so too are some of the Land Rover ones...

I look forward to guidance from FL2.com! Rolling with laughter

2009 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Santorini Black

Only one of your list that I have driven is the Alfa GT.

I found the ride to be very harsh and not as powerful as I would have hoped for. In the demo car I drove the glove box kept on opening for no reason Laughing Freelander 2 GS TD4, Santorini Black

rc,
I'm moving away from GT as whilst it looks nice (exterior) its essentially a short wheelbase 156 with a 147 dash. dynamically its no spring-chicken either.

thanks for confirming (power and ride)!!!!!

I thought all Alfa's rusted like hell Shocked

Seriously, I guess living in the UK and with no apparent real reason to drive a 4x4 there must be a sea of choices, so the best of luck with moving on Thumbs Up

Thankfully there is no reason to own a fast, petrol guzzling car in Scandinavia were 4x4’s really come into their own, like they were designed and meant to belong here. We who have chosen the 4x4 path, will certainly not turn back to old-fashioned type vehicles Very Happy 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.
