If Capt Tom, had been so negative he would probably not reach
the age he is and certainly would not have raised all that money.

Over £16 million now.

It would be nice to reach £20 million, the site is below.

A bio on Tom:
Tom was born and brought up in Keighley, Yorkshire. He went to Keighley Grammar School and later completed an apprenticeship as a Civil Engineer. Tom went onto being enlisted in 8 DWR (145 RAC) at the beginning of the war, and in 1940 was selected for Officer training. He was later posted to 9DWR in India, and served and fought on the Arakan, went to Regiment to Sumatra after the Japanese surrender and returned to be Instructor at Armoured Fighting Vehicle School in Bovington.

edit - now £18million 17/4/2020 FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

I reckon Captain Toms been locked out and waiting for family to get home; in the meantime he keeps walking else his arthritis gets the better of him and his legs seize up Wink
Remarkable achievement though and how the public have taken him to heart. Hope he reaches his 100th birthday at the end of the month.

It's always best to look on the bright side don't you think, Capt Tom has provided a much needed boost for the NHS and everybodys morale which I think is more important than sniping at the Government at a time when we all need a bit of cheering up.

Thumbs Up at a time such as now, we all need to pull together; whenever an opposition MP, or councillor is being interviewed there's always the inevitable jibe at how the Government should be dealing with this and that. Forget the politics ffs, knuckle down and support what is being done. None of us has ever experienced the situation we presently face, so there's no tried and tested processes in place.

I have been pleasantly surprised by just how collaborative the party’s have been, sure there has been the odd (mainly local councillors it appears) that moan about something, but I found the majors have been quite all together in this crisis, save the occasional pre programmed subliminal response which is then not followed up (when they realise they’d look like an arse). Refreshing. Regards

David

Lovely i6 has now gone, but not me......

Please let me know if anything in my post offends you, as I may wish to offend you again......

Capt Tom reaches £20million.

A great way to show our appreciation of the NHS staff, working in extremely challenging conditions.

When this is over we must not forget ALL those who keep us safe, fed, warm, and lit etc.

We mustn't slip back into the 'non society' dogma, it doesn't work. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
