Hi all, first post here. Bought a 2013 SD4 HSE last Nov, and done a few bits n bobs since, with the current lockdown situation decided I would try to fit some driving lights to front. In the process of figuring out where wiring will go etc. I’ve found a spare electrical connector just in front of the horn, it was plugged into a little plastic blanking plate. Just wondering if anyone knows what it’s for? I thought originally maybe the external temp sensor, but when I pulled it out it wasn’t connected to anything? So assumed it’s for an accessory or something? Auxiliary heater?? Spotlights??

Any help appreciated. Will try to attach some pics too,

You say "spot lights" ......
FL2 came with and without 'fog lamps' so do you have fogs ?
FL2 did not come with Driving lamps as standard on any model. They were only supplied as an accessory.

I fitted the Driving lamps to my vehicle. You need to have fogs installed in order to mount the Driving lamps. LR supplied a separate wiring loom in the kit that went from lamp position to fuse box to dash switch. There were NO connections to existing loom.

I do have fog lights, which are on a separate loom with the front parking sensors.
If additional LR driving light loom didn’t connect to an original loom (which it didn’t, going by what you’re saying) looks like this connector must have been for something else?

The genuine LR accessory Driving lamps only fitted the earlier model, that have oval fog lamps.

Looks like the bonnet alarm connector

Seems too low for a bonnet alarm sensor to me, but happy to be proved wrong. I’ve attached another photo, which shows that it sits quite a bit lower then bonnet catch.

Thought about the temp sensor myself, but it’s literally just a blanking connector on the end of it, so figured since I have a reading on the dash, I wasn’t missing one!

PDC? Is there something additional on top of the parking sensors? I have those already, and they’re on the loom with the fogs, this one isn’t those? Is there a radar or something that was an extra??

First post in FreeL2 and I’ve got the best on the case already! Cheers guys!

So, I read that the webasto was fitted nearer the NS wheel well? But I’m just playing a guessing game now.

Would love to know though, I’m still trying to sort the wiring for additional LED spots, so just wondered in case the connector in question was a sneaky additional lamp connector that was left in case someone wanted to connect extra lighting.

I guess I’ll never know!

There were two types of horn fitted.....




If your other connector looks to mate this .... it could be your answer.

check your chassis number is from AH191025 to AH999999

Connector looks very similar? So must have been a different horn option?
