What a great shame that so many of them will never ever venture offroad - at least until they’re into the s/hand market.
Good to see, though. Well done JLR. Thumbs Up

Come on now. have you seen the height of the kerbstones outside some Chelsea schools? They should have an optional special "School Run" terrain programme.

Height of the kerbstones in Australia!

Interesting in the 'Test' each vehicle, of which there was 8 in convoy, were all equipped with, 3rd party (not standard fit) sand ladders and one vehicle (with Global Sat Comms) showed to have a hi-lift jack.

When one vehicle got a puncture the repair was carried out with the 'very standard' scissor jack, really ? That is what you get with the Expedition Pak ??

When one vehicle got stuck in the sand , whey pulled it out, with a 3rd party, front mounted winch. Leaving the 3rd party sand ladders on the roof.

So it's 3rd party ......... or NO party !!
Laughing

PS .... I make or improve all my own, bolted-on accessories, custom built.

Funny to hear guys on a FREELANDER forum dissing vehicles as Chelsea tractors, never see offroad - we drive something that is almost the definition of an offroad-styled non-offroader. It's even available in 2WD only.

Didn't they let the tyres down for the sand & pump them back up with the LR accessory on-board pump. Probably far too slow!

& they could have cleaned the car with the LR accessory water pump. Probably not enough pressure! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

88 litre fuel tank, that's another 60 litres on the roof in Australia. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

As part of my 'side fixed window' modification, I am building a universal plate that will allow various 'bolt-on' products to be fitted. One of which is large plastic jerry cans. I have to mind the weight thou.

Looking forward to taking delivery of my 90, whenever that may be.

To be fair, I don’t see how you could use the hi-lift on the new Defender. Even on the later ‘old’ Defenders you really needed the adapter to distance the jack from the bodywork at the back. And at the front, the bumper stopped being strong enough to jack on somewhere around 1988!

I still use the handle of my hi-lift as an extension bar for my wheel brace for when the nuts have been overtightened by a garage, but the jack itself hasn’t been out the shed in years! 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

the windscreen shot tells you its a LR Factory car by the sticky mess of passes. Full production vehicle as no PP number etched into glass and it was registered in the last month (or so - pre-reg ?)

Loads of JLR employees live around here, so often see factory registered Defenders, Range Rovers etc.

Jaguar Landrover Limited is normally printed on the registration plate at the bottom.
