Water in rear light.

Offside rear light was misting up so as the car is sorn I thought I would try to sort it out, took the light off and got wet feet when I turned it upside down!
Looks like it has come in through the top joint, I can't get in with a cloth to dry it so wondered if anybody knows how to do it? oven/microwave/hair dryer? or can the outer glass be removed and resealed?
Can't find anything on search but I can't be the only one it's happened too can I? Common sense isn't very common.

Notorious on the RR and with ours I took the lamp out and had a hair dryer pumping hot air in a bulb hole for a good hour (not too close though) and it dried out nicely, then ran some clear silicon sealer along the top seam, was still dry after 6 months when we sold the car. Regards

David

My ex's Honda CRV, (an oldish one,) had about 3" of water sloshing about in the bottom, I took the lamp unit out and drilled a small hole, (about 4mm,) in the bottom on the inside back part and let it drain through there, refitted it and it's not been a problem since.

Luckily the water came out of the top so no holes drilled.
Tried the hair dryer but there's inner glass so not so easy to do but did help a bit.
In the end I stood it up in the bedroom windows and let the sun dry it out Very Happy
Thanks guys Thumbs Up Common sense isn't very common.
