There are two different type, although they both look, from a distance the same.

I believe LR refer to these as 'spats', right? Smile

Stuartc wrote, "May I suggest that you check to see if you have front "spats" fitted as these are designed to stop exactly what you are experiencing, water being thrown up onto the screen when the front tyres meet a large body of water.
There is also two sizes available, mine [his] are the smaller version"

They are an effective little piece of plastic. The freelander doesn't spray much water up when you hit a puddle, compared to my Discovery 2 which was like driving into a tsunami! Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Who was that who made that video? They don’t have to cover “the whole tyre” to stop splash, splash from the tyre goes inwards towards the front of the car, what goes outwards they could give a f**k...... it looks like LR wanted to save a few bucks and decided the effect was much the same between the two (and it gave them better approach angle figures) and helped them save 10/20/30 cents a spat, it adds up.

I filmed so many splash tests in my time (including some for LR when we owned them) we got webbed feet.

Bloody U tube experts! Regards

David

Lovely i6 has now gone, but not me......

Please let me know if anything in my post offends you, as I may wish to offend you again......
