Netherlands 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Baltic Blue
Icarsoft cr pro

Hey guys, i need your opinion please.
I want to buy a decent diagnostic tool. After some searching on the www i came up with the icarsoft cr pro. What do you guys think of that? Is it worth buying?
I want to use it for our 2011 sd4, the 2002 polo and the 2007 panda and of course the future cars.
For our previous Defenders and Discovery's i used to work with the nanocom EVO, but it is not versatile enough now.

Hope you wil share your experiances with me. 'per aspera ad astra'

United Kingdom 2015 Freelander 2 SD4 Metropolis LE Auto Firenze Red

I bought the CR V2.0 model that allows up to 10 manufacturers to be downloaded to the memory card. I've got 5 makes that I could use it with at the moment but got it primarily for my 2014/15 FL2 that's throwing up EGR codes, I want to know a little more about what's going on with the car before launching into dealing with the issue.

It arrived yesterday and I found it quite intuitive, hooked it up to a MacBook Pro running a Windows 7 image, installed the update/upgrade package and flashed the unit with Land Rover and Volvo software. Went out to the cars and tried it on my 2002/3 V70 which I've had from new and for which I've got the full Vida/DICE setup. The CR quickly and correctly ID'd a cabin climate control sensor at fault, I had a quick look at some of the other features such as live readings, logging and saving files then took the unit over to the Freelander.

On the Freelander it once again found codes that I already knew about for the EGR, I played around with all the other features and was suitably impressed. It can carry out a range of service functions such a electronic handbrake control but it would be useful to have throttle calibration and EGR resetting.

I might be pushing it a bit with my Nissan Terrano 2 which is not supposed OBD2 compliant but has the 16 pin connector, but we'll see. The other vehicles I might use it with are a Ford Fiesta and a VW Golf TDi. Still leaves me with 5 makes for the future, what's not to like?

If there are any specific things you want to know then just ask and I'll try to help.

Cheers,

Mick

Well, watched a lot of video's on yt, and orderd one Mr. Green the cr pro covers 99% of all the cars on the market, diesel from 2004 the rest from 2001.
First i was thinking about the EU version, but it does not cover enough makes.
Will let you all know when it's here, and when i played a bit with it. 'per aspera ad astra'

Thanks for that information Rangie110, that's really helpful.

I've been travelling off-road in a LR 101 today, worth Googling Thumbs Up

Edit: Yes I can see the Throttle Valve Actuator replacement tool but none for the EGR function.

Cheers, Mick
