A better "look"?

How do all
had my free 2 for a month or so now.. its exactly the same as every other freelander 2 in my area.. there are soooo many about..
i like my cars to be different

what have you done to make it a bit different.. i would love to give it a proper off roader look?

any cheap ways to give the freelander a good "off roader look" or any other suggestions to make it a bit different...
i use it to tow and my 40 mile daily commute and family duties

Its a 07 TD4 SE in grey with sand fully leather interior

I prefer not to stand out from the crowd, so I avoid "bling" & oversize wheels etc.. and the car gets washed maybe 4-6 times a year, only for weddings funerals & the like.

Not so many have the roof bars which are an easy fit, to make it look more off roader add the light guards if they're still available and the latest off road 'must have' is the raised air intake.

You'll certainly stand out then just hope you actually let it have a go at a bit of off roading!

Put the light guards on the rear of mine but can't bring myself to put the front ones on as you have to drill the wing!
Maybe one day!

Yes just leave it dirty. Its about the only mod that you don't have to tell the insurance company about.
A while ago I tried to get a quote through the Caravan Club. First question was "has the vehicle been modified" when I answered yes it has a tow bar they refused to carry on with the on line quote!
Amazing

^^^^^ Towbar, seriously?.......The insurance industry is a bloody racket. I remember in my mid 20s, being told by my insurance agent that insurance was just for peace of mind not for making a claim. Never dealt with that company again but the agent was being honest. Started using a broker after that.

@pistol pete, don't let anyone rain on your mod parade! Thumbs Up

Stone chips all over the front & scratches along the sides from bush bashing are cheep to replicate & will look authentic!

Mud flaps always look dirty.

Spare wheel or two on roof rack, & a shovel shouldn't set you back too much.

Spot lights & aerial on bracket.

Knock up a sand flag from an old fishing rod & cut up hi-vis vest for flag as most people do. Bolt it down horizontally to roof rack together with Sand Tracks & a shovel.

Stone guard on back window.
