Germany 2008 LR2 i6 SE Auto Nazca Sand
Current model updates?

Hello

Does anyone know if LR plans any mid model year changes? Or does anyone know WHEN the current model will be refreshed?

The competition is getting a bit tighter IMHO. The new Q5 and XC60 have many features that LR lacks.

Thanks for any info.

@ lrlr2

I am not sure myself, but please try the link below, there is a lot of information about the anticipated/assumed model change/development (I assume you can read German, since you are in/from Kaiserslautern):

thanks - found that too.

seems mid yr changes are just for the UK mkt - nothing for the US other than maybe the color additions.

LR needs to update - they competition is outpacing them... they need to bring the diesel to US.

Never assume that any (temporary) resident of Kaiserslautern can read German - the one in the new Mustang who recently passed me doing about 120mph in 80kph autobahn road works certainly couldn't!

Belgium 2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e XS Manual Santorini Black

The LRX, which I've seen in the Belgium Motorshow this year, is quite smaller then the Freelander. I think the FL2 won't be replaced by a diffenent model anytime soon. It should have a production life of at least 6 more years.

Secondly LR has a tradition of not changing their models too drastically within it's production life. That is one of the reasons Why I chose one. Personally knowing of the LR sport, but not knowing its history, I cannot guess the modelyear when looking at one. Same with all LR models.

Thirdly, since I'm waiting on my car which should arrive end of april, the dealer told me it would already be MY 2010. It's a TD4_e (manual), so they wont be upgrading it until mid 2010 to create a MY 2011.

So don't expect too many changes anytime soon on the Freelander.

They will be outputting the LRX next year and I think the RR sport is about to be replaced by a complety new model. Expect the design to be Freelander-like too, though bigger (obvioulsy).

Discovery wont change anytime soon either.

Range Rover, I don't know. Hasen't changed in looks in many years and don't expect it change much in the commng years as it never does.

Defender same deal.

The thing about LR is that you can always tell the modeltype but it's quite difficult to judge it's age.

and you should never assume, that I drive or don't follow the posed signs, as Mr Mustang. Temporary of not, I still have respect for the road, rules, and customs.

2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Tonga Green

Well, there are Mr. Mustangs, Mr. Cayennes and Mrs. Boxsters all over and all around everywhere. The worst drivers are definitely here in Sout-East. I am not talking about driving skills or tempo limits, what they use to do here is disrespecting red traffic lights and people crossing the street that is real adventure to cross the street Sad !

Colinsb, I am sure he understands and reads German and he respects the traffic rules - since our Freelys do facilitate cruising rather than racing.

LrLr2, take out the "h" from Kaiserslautern near your Avatar - that makes you almost indistuingishable from us German aborigines then Smile

Best regards to the homelands

According to Auto-Express LRX will be badged Range Rover when it goes on sale in 2010/2011. Auto-Express also hedged it's bets with the price " It will be priced between Freelander2 and Range Rover" which narrows it down a bit from "between Defender and Range Rover" then Mr. Green How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?
Now driving - RRE Coupe Dynamic Lux Auto with Plus pack, Fuji White, Ebony, SD4 with tow pack
