..... don't want to add to your woe, good practice is to change both springs on the same axle.

Whilst that is good practice in most cases. Most experienced engineers will tell you that springs normally break through manufacturing defects or accidental damage causing stress points, rather than age related fatigue. I would just have the other spring examined and if there is no sign of damage leave it alone. But that is just my opinion and that of my experienced colleagues in the trade. |
