FL2 key interferes with BMW

I had to park my FL2 next to a BMW X5 in the town car park yesterday (there was no other space available, honest) so I locked my car as usual and immediately the BMW alarm went off going beep beep etc and lights flashing. No sign of anyone else around so I unlocked my car and locked it again and this silenced the BMW but the lights kept flashing. Decided not my problem and walked away. Came back about an hour later BMW was sitting quietly so I drove away. No idea if it's still there. Has anyone else had an experience like this? 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto

This is the most likely, several years ago I had a car next to me alarm unexpectedly, and once I realised it was me causing it, I amused myself for a few minutes, waiting for it to stop, and then seeing how close I could get.

Then my wife came back from the shops...….

Unlikely to be proximity if it was reacting to when I pushed the buttons on the FL2 key though. I could make the BMW lights stop and start flashing. More like reacting to my key fob. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

When I used to park my F1 on a local car park to collect my prescriptions, I could lock it on the fob but couldn't unlock it using the fob. I could only unlock it using the key, but then the alarm would sound and it would be a Censored to turn it off again. Then it would never start without sounding the alarm again. Turns out there was a mobile phone tower , which would interfere with signal . It was so bloody embarrassing as it took so long to turn off the alarm, people looking at me like I was stealing the vehicle.
Not the same as the OP, but I can see how it can happen.
