Cambelt change

I'm coming up for 100K miles on a 2012 SD4 HSE. I've asked this question before and got some sensible advice about not risking a cambelt change out to 150k.
Nevertheless, I would be interested to know if anyone has EVER suffered a broken cambelt and if so, at what mileage.

They’ve revised the SD4 cam belt changes to 7 years/112,000 Miles. I recently changed mine on my 2012 Evoque. Just under 60k on the clock. I can only assume they’ve revised it as they are starting to see failures around that time. If you’ve got a 2012 SD4, according to LR, you’re on borrowed time! Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto
Present: Audi A3 S Line.

That belt, for sure, would have been generating quite some noise inside the plastic cover of the belt, leading to the desire of changing it, right?

You don't actually need a LR specialist, any good independent with experience of the engine can do it, Ford, Citroen and Puegoet also use the engine my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Can’t remember the exact figure, but I recently paid around £375 inc VAT for my cambelt and water pump change at a LR Indy in Portsmouth.

I bought a Gates timing belt kit with water pump and a new multi-rib drive belt and antifreeze for around £125 and fitted it myself. Was a fiddly bloody job though! Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

I'm not exactly sure how many belt manufacturers there are and how maany are generic, could be only one European manufacturer and one Chinese, or just one Chinese. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Early + late belts are physically the same. However, the later cars have a shorter interval, for some reason Confused

Yes, it was investigated due to a noise when engine running. The noise was the belt slapping the inside of the cover on every rotation Laughing
