Absolutely gutted, wheel well swimming in water

I understand we have had a lot of rain but didnt expect 2014 FL2 to spring a leak.

opened the boob(pmsl Rolling with laughter ) i'll try opening the BOOT only to discover the carpets were soak through lifted the spare wheel cover to find a good 2" of water.

been looking at around and all the rubber seal seem to be in very good condition, no obvious signs as to where the leak.

would be grateful for any advise, was told the high level break light is a common place so will have a look at that.

Almost certain to be the high level brake light. Search on this forum for a fix. Thumbs Up MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.

I hate it when you open the boob to find a pool of water Mr. Green as said it will be the seal around the high level break light.

There must be the potential for a joke about boobs and silicone in there somewhere... Steve

Sounds like you have got abreast of the situation, probably is the high level brake light seal gone tits up.

When my high level brake light developed a leak I took it off, cleaned all the green muck and dirt off of the seal and surrounding area, let it dry, sprayed it thoroughly with some silicone spray. Hasn't leaked since.

It won't make you feel any better but it happened on my 64 plate fl2 just before the 3 year warranty was up. Thankfully fixed by the dealership with a complete new light assembly. It is obviously a weak point along with diff, clutch, lights etc etc MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.

The high level brake light is a nightmare as it always leaks, your best course of action is to drill a 1/2 hole through the spare wheel space Rolling with laughter

It would be interesting to see a post of the complete list of all the regular faults that occur on these poorly designed cars.

Agree with boxbrownie. FL2 is an excellent car but not perfect. What car is? Every car has its little foibles unless you’re paying huge money. Even then there’ll be something you don’t like.

OK , thats your opinion box brownie , but they are still poor in the reliability department, i have never spent so much on repairs with a car thats only done 44000 miles. so i don't regard it a silly statement.

You don’t buy a Land/Range Rover if you want a reliable car just looking at JD Power results tells you that, year in year out LR always around third from bottom of the pile, if reliability is your aim you would be far better off looking at a Japanese/Korean car maker.

When I sold my 2012 HSE last year it had done 153,000mls and had nothing extra spent on it other than routine servicing. Still running original diff/haldex/clutch/wheel bearings etc. Thumbs Up
