Watch out - Dodgy Freelander advertised RA62 EBX

Aaaah, my Freelie was written off due to car accident last March. It looks like it's been fixed and listed on Ebay with the same licence plate.

Major difference is that roof rails, front grill and rims have been changed. Also they've added a badge that says 'HSE Luxury'. Also, the car had way more KM than what's showing on the clock!

Is this a dodgy ad or what? Or is it a different car assigned with a different licence plate?

Presumably it has no MoT tests before it was written off (being abroad maybe?) so they have....er......taken advantage of the missing recorded mileage and massaged the miles a bit Whistle Regards

Box brownie, so that they can get away with it? I feel sorry for the poor sod who's going to buy it. Chassis was bent and front right axle destroyed. I was quoted £16k to repair, so God only knows what parts have been thrown in... 2013 SE TD4 in Mauritius Blue [Written off]

When you surrendered the V5 did you fill in the mileage request? (Not compulsory, but it should be). Regards

I would suggest letting your insurance company know, they all talk to each other and can flag the registration so when anyone goes to insure it they can ask some deep meaningful questions.....  MY2014 SD4 XS

Remember most people will look at insurance before purchase just to get an idea on price so I would suggest they would be interested especially as they are big into fraud these days.

its not far from where i live, dont know them personally but i just wouldnt trust them as far i could throw them, lack of description, and other information on there would put me off.

as for the odometer reading... i wonder if it has been changed to miles rather than kilometres. So it should be 100,000km which is approx 60,000 miles

i would pretty much guarantee that if you started quizzing him too much then the car would be miraculously sold and the ad removed. Whistle

Needn't be confrontational, a few basic questions that you'd ask if you going along to view it - accident history etc. Or get a friend to be straight up and say he recognises the registration from a mates car when he lived abroad but thought it had been written off. Sellers response, or lack off, will give some indication of what's going on.

have you messaged the seller Ed ?

ive just sent this over via Ebay messages, told him i live down the road and planning to drop in to view it.

is the car still for sale please ?
do you have the current V5 registration for it as its LHD ?
do you know the history of it, for example where it was used as its LHD and the previous owner(s) details
does it have a current MOT?
does it have any history of accident damage ?
is there any finance or anything on HPI about it?
