Driving with MAF disconnected - Reduced Engine Performance

Just trying to eliminate MAF sensor from silly fault on my FL2.

Sensor is absolutely clean and dry - FoMoCo unit.

I wanted to test with it disconnected but it flags up Reduced Engine Performance on display.

Is this correct and is it OK to drive with that showing?

Thanks
